World leaders attending the 21-member Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation meeting have concluded their session in Honolulu, Hawaii. They have released a declaration vowing to take action to bring comprehensive change to the current economic state in order to cope with the sluggish economy and beyond.

Barack Obama, US President, said, "No region will do more to shape our long term economic future than the Asia Pacific region. "

Thats why the whole world was watching, when the leaders of the 21 APEC members got together to conclude the event and released a joint declaration. In the declaration , the members vowed to enhance trade, promote green growth and implement regulatory reforms . Besides the three prioritized areas in the declaration, the leaders also made progress in helping small businesses and formulating new initiatives for business people to travel easier and faster.

The declaration added that faced with the current Global economic challenge, the only way to move forward is through commitment and cooperation.

A specific measure the members agreed upon was to formulate a list of environmental goods where the countries and regions would agree to cut tariffs to 5 percent by the end of 2015.

However, notes of discord surfaced at a closing news conference, US President Barack Obama again brought up the subject of currency again and pressured China on its trade and currency practices.

But Chinese President Hu Jintao insisted earlier that Chinas currency was not behind the US economic woes, and that Chinas economic policies are in-line with current economic state of the nation and international regulations.

So it seems, a lot of work remains to be done before all the APEC members can cooperate extensively in boosting the world economy.
