Bids open for Chinas large passenger jet engine project
The AVIC Commercial Aircraft Engine Co., which develops, manufactures and sells large passenger aircraft engines for the Chinese and global market, is looking for global suppliers.
Established in 2009 as part of Chinas large passenger jet program, the Shanghai based company is focused on designing, market tapping, operating and selling for Chinas large passenger aircraft engine project.
Now the bidding is open to suppliers and partners globally. Eligible candidates must meet an array of requirements, including financial independence, ISO 9001 quality control, design capability, manufacturing and testing parts and components for aircraft engines and other criteria.
International suppliers have already participated in Chinas large passenger jet project. C919, Chinas first indigenously developed large passenger jet, is expected to take off in 2014. Suppliers from Germany and the United States have reached agreements with Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China on jointly manufacturing some parts of the jet, such as undercarriages.
