Shandong to boost economies of China, Japan, S Korea

A pilot site for economic co-operation between China, Japan and South Korea will be built in the Shandong Peninsula, announced Fei Yuliang, a project-related official, during a press conference late Sunday.

The site will help the countries to closely cooperate in the ocean industry; regional trade and investment; multinational transportation; and logistics and e-commerce, according to the China News Agency.

In a long-term, the formation will be in favor of a free trade zone in Northeast Asia, Fei said.
