Airlines from Taiwan have announced plans to increase red-eye flights between Taipei and Shanghai. This is to ease transport pressure during summer, when air tickets are in high demand by tourists.

Starting Tuesday, Eva Air will launch a weekly flight at 10 PM from Taipei, and returning from Shanghai at 1 AM. Both China Airlines and TransAsia Airways will also begin Friday red-eye flights.

These flights will be more than 2-thousand yuan cheaper than regular flights. The move comes after Taipei Mayor Hau Lung-bin's visit to Shanghai about a week ago.
